Spinning Gold

The Climbing Boys

The Climbing Boys

Spinning Gold is a trio led by Trisha Daniel on vocals and 12-string guitar and includes her husband, Ron Collins, on vocals and 6-string guitar, and Jim Gillam on harmonica and occasional vocals.  Their unique repertoire consists of Ron Collins' original songs echoing his life’s journey and songs by artists ranging from Kathy Mattea to John Prine to Woody Guthrie. Their music is propelled by heartfelt singing (with Trisha's distinctive growl) and Jim's soulful harmonica playing over the rhythm of acoustic guitars.
Trisha Daniel was instrumental in forming the High Desert Sun and Mother Crow Sister Raven bands. Ron Collins' love of music began at an early age with his introduction to the gospel genre as a child.  As a young man, Collins was honored to record publisher demos for himself and other songwriters. Jim Gillam has been playing around the Klamath Basin for many years with artists including Trisha, Aaron Miller, Tom Franks, Joan Daley and The Old Time Fiddlers. Jim is an accomplished accompanist on harmonica, playing a variety of genres with characteristic style. Spinning Gold's goal is to bring good music, fun and laughter to their audiences.

The Climbing Boys

The Climbing Boys band was organized by Tom Franks and consists of Tom on vocals and acoustic guitar, Aaron Miller on electric guitar, and Jim Gillam on harmonica.  We play blues and gospel songs written by Tom and a select few other artists.  Tom Franks was raised in a musical culture (Hawaii) and a musical family (his mom is a classically trained organist).  He is a prolific songwriter and has written songs about many different topics.  Aaron Miller has performed his solo acoustic act at many local events and also leads The Aaron Miller Band, a scorching hot electric trio.  He is an active collaborator, having worked in many different projects with talented local musicians.  Jim Gillam has been playing around the Klamath Basin for many years as a solo performer and with artists including Spinning Gold, Joan Daley, Kirk Ortiz and The Old Time Fiddlers. Jim is an accomplished accompanist on harmonica, playing a variety of genres with characteristic style.

Tom was raised in a musical culture (Hawaii) and a musical family, with his mom being a classically trained organist.

He moved from ukulele to organ to other instruments, including guitar.  He performs his original songs weekly around the Klamath Basin.

Sonshine Mountain Band

Sonshine Mountain Band

Sonshine Mountain Band

The Sonshine Mountain Gospel Bluegrass Band is an old-fashioned gospel and bluegrass trio from way out in the hills of Sprague River, Oregon. With an eclectic—but lively, and toe-tapping—taste in music; they fuse bluegrass, folk, and that old-time hillbilly music into a sound all their own.

The band comprises Ron Willis, Gale Willis, and Joseph Bergstrom. They’ve been playing for almost twenty years, with various lineups, but their current one is more gospel-focused than anything else. The band has traveled the Pacific Northwest to work with the homeless, trying to give them hope through music and the Word of God.

Aaron Miller Band

Sonshine Mountain Band

Aaron Miller Band

The Aaron Miller Band formed in late 2023 in Klamath Falls Oregon. It consists of Aaron Miller on lead vocals and guitar, Justin Sloan on bass, and John Fitz on drums. Aaron Miller has been a regular musician in the Klamath Falls music scene since 2017 when he began attending open mics at local brewpub Mias and Pias. Playing guitar since he was 17 years old, it wasn’t until 2021 that he began performing solo acoustic acts around Klamath Falls. In the years following he has collaborated and played with many of the fine local musicians in the basin. He’s formally played in the bands High Desert Sun, Ronnie boy and the Bogmummies (where Aaron met drummer John), Two local Folkies, The Climbing boys, Cool Disposition, and most recently struck out with John and Justin to form the Aaron Miller Band. John started playing drums at age 11 in Brooklyn New York. He had an early love of the blues and played in east coast clubs such as CBGB’s and the Elbow Room with bands such the Kung Fu Monks and Blanket Party. Justin picked up the bass guitar when he was 12 years old and has been in and out of the local music scene for years. He’s played bass in bands such as the Blues Struggle Band, Second Hand Smoke and Stiff. The Aaron Miller Band’s music is made up of modern ideas steeped in a unique blend of country rhythms and rocking beats with a blues soul.
